Story of अलबेली
अलबेली is not just a brand—it’s a part of me, a journey of love, resilience, and purpose that I share with my daughter. What started as a small initiative in our home in Kota has now become a movement empowering over 150 underprivileged women artisans.
It all began with a simple idea—giving textile waste a second life while preserving India’s rich craft traditions. Our first creations were applique bedsheets, stitched as a way to stay productive and earn a little extra. Slowly, more women joined in, and what was once a small household effort grew into a community of artisans overcoming challenges together.
Then came the pandemic. Everything came to a halt. Livelihoods were lost, and the future seemed uncertain. But in that moment of crisis, we found an opportunity—our storeroom was filled with fabric scraps from our bedsheet-making days. We began upcycling them into masks, and work started again. That moment changed everything. If we, as a small boutique, generated so much waste, what about the larger fashion industry? That realization shaped अलबेली’s zero-waste philosophy.
With renewed determination, my daughter joined me in this journey, and together, we shaped अलबेली into what it is today. We now upcycle over 10 tons of textile waste every year, transforming discarded fabric into meaningful products—pouches, laptop sleeves, aasans, home linens, and more. Each piece carries a story of transformation, a commitment to sustainability, and the hard work of the women behind it.
But अलबेली is more than products—it’s about people. We are building a community that values craftsmanship, ethical living, and the power of women. Through free skill training, we are helping women gain financial independence and reclaim their futures with dignity.
